Cycling PEI Seeks Summer Events Coordinator

Cycling PEI is seeking a post-secondary student to join us this spring and summer as our Summer Events Coordinator.

In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Director, Cycling PEI board members and other volunteers to plan and execute a series of summer cycling events. These include road and mountain bike races as well as our weekly all-ages Rigid Riders mountain bike skill-building program at Brookvale, which runs from June through August.

Key duties will include:

  • Coordinating preparations for events including promotion, volunteer coordination, managing registrations, and event logistics;

  • Event set-up and management

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • 18-29 years old and enrolled in school full-time in the current year, with the intention to return to school full-time in the next school year

  • Reliable, well-organized and with good time management skills

  • An ability to work independently

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well with people

  • Facility with computer-based technologies (eg. Google Docs, email, online registration systems, etc)

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle to get to event locations

Previous experience with project or event management or volunteer coordination will be considered as assets. 

This position is for 35 hours/week, for 15 weeks, and requires the ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings when events are taking place.

Location of work: This position will require the employee to be on-site at events. When events are not taking place, the employee has the option of performing most work from home and/or the Cycling PEI office located at 40 Enman Crescent, Charlottetown.

Wages:  $18/hour; mileage will be reimbursed for work-related travel.

Work term: Starting as soon as possible, for 15 weeks..
