New Executive Director Hired for Cycling PEI

Charlottetown, PEI - Jordan Bober was recently hired as Cycling PEI’s new Executive Director. The CPEI Board of Directors is excited to be working with Jordan as they plan for the season ahead.

Mark Weeks, CPEI President, is looking forward to the year ahead. “We look forward to having Jordan on our team as we work toward building the cycling community on PEI and broadening our reach to include a more diverse group of cyclists,” he said.

Cycling PEI (CPEI) is a non-profit, volunteer-directed provincial body for bicycling. It represents a large range of disciplines including road, mountain bike, BMX and track in areas of recreation, active transportation, youth and competition. Cycling PEI’s mission is to build the cycling community by providing education, leadership, programming and other activities that contribute to a growing and vibrant cycling experience on Prince Edward Island.

Currently, the Cycling PEI Groomer Pilot project is underway, taking care of grooming several trails during the winter. The organization is also preparing for a busy spring, summer and fall of programming, races and events.

Jordan Bober Bio:

Jordan Bober is an Islander-by-choice, making PEI his home in 2016 after periods living in Vancouver, Sweden, France, Germany and his native Alberta. Jordan's time in Vancouver and Europe opened his eyes to the potential for cycling to become a much bigger part of our lives and how we get around, stay in shape and have fun on PEI, and he is excited to be working with Cycling PEI to help grow the cycling community in this province.

Jordan comes to us with a strong background in non-profit organizing, governance and administration. He possesses a Master's of Science in Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and is fluent in French as well as several other languages. Jordan currently lives with his partner in Georgetown.
