Cycling PEI is pleased to be back on the trail this year, facilitating another $150,000 worth of multi-use trail development made possible by the provincial Active Transportation Fund! This funding will allow us to develop an additional 5.5km of world-class trail in Cardigan and Brudenell, perfect for mountain biking and hiking in the summer, and for snowshoeing and fat-biking in the winter. We’ll also be doing a small project to repair and enhance features at the O’Leary Skills Park this summer. Pictured above are members of our incredible trail crew: Master Trail Builder Albert Flavell, excavator operator Anna Brazil, and stalwart trail builders Greg Campbell and Rafe Hambly. They and others have been hard at work over the past few years building stunning trails in Bonshaw, Strathgartney and Cardigan that, together with the incredible work at Brookvale by John Mullins and Joe Downham, are helping put PEI on the map as a premier destination for mountain biking in Atlantic Canada. Please note: Although it can be tempting to want to take a peek at new trails under construction, we ask you to please help our trail workers by staying off trails under construction until they are announced as ready. Thank you!
